Akashi not realizing he loves Furihata because he’s already in love with this sorta-kinda-anonymous texting buddy that accidentally typed in the wrong number when he was announcing “I got into the basketball club!!” Which means basically since the start of the year they’ve been talking back and forth and he’s conflicted because Furi is so cute and talks sort of like that anonymous person types and sometimes his phone went off right after Akashi texted that person and as the WC goes on Akashi gets more and more suspicious… Not to mention his first name is Kouki, and his buddy said to call them “Kou-kun or something like that just fyi lol”
And Furihata realized who it was really early on when Kuroko glanced over his shoulder the day he got into the club and said “Is that the number you intended to type? I didn’t know you knew Akashi-kun.” Following a mini-freakout, the polite “Congratulations. Who is this?” both soothes his nerves and makes him insane with worry. And he falls very slowly for this softened image that forms out of “mutual anonymity” that lulls Akashi into a sense of security that lets him talks about when he’s upset or how sometimes he wishes he could go to karaoke with his sempai but he’s always busy thanks to his prior decisions. It takes only a few days for the anxiety to fade out. They talk Shogi, and general strategy/tactics which both are very good at, and basketball which they aren’t quite on equal ground with, and some nights they stay up together when they can’t talk to anyone else about how crappy their day was. Eventually, he gets a “Seijirou is my name. Use it wisely.”
But then he meets him and Furi gets so nervous and playing Kuroko’s chaperone doesn’t help the situation okay? This wasn’t how he wanted to meet Akashi at all and now he think Akashi hates him in person and the aura he maintains in public is toxic. Furi suddenly understands all those nights Akashi had vented and misspelled words from blurred eyes and shaking hands. It wasn’t just toxic to others- it was hurting the real Akashi behind the image and the “I win, therefore I am right” bullshit. He doesn’t leave not just because he’s scared- but also because he was determined to see the public face of his texting buddy.
So when Seirin goes against Rakuzan and Furihata faces Akashi for maybe two minutes and wins the battle, and maybe even the war? Well. That changes things. Then after the game Akashi actually calls him instead of texting him, and Furi fumbles with his phone [he has a special ringtone for Akashi pbbt] and tries to leave as he picks up without realizing Akashi is literally watching him as he says “H-hello?” and suddenly he knows and Akashi lets the mask fall as he reverently whispers “Kou-kun,” before like hugging him and burying his face in his sweaty, smelly jersey and letting his phone fall to the floor and oh my god the teams go wild.
EDIT: I’m not writing this! I’d love to, but I’m busy right now! But it’s such a cute idea, I don’t mind if someone else mooches off it. No need to ask.
things I've learned the hard way.
  1. all minimum wage jobs suck. - it doesn’t matter what it is. retail, resturants, a bar, serving, hosting, cashier — ALL of it. they all have their pros and cons, and until I’m an established nurse in a hospital, it’s going to suck. keep your shitty job. it’s money.
  2. LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH. having a sweet boy who makes you grilled cheeses and holds you when you cry over previously mentioned sucky minimum wage job — is worth more than being single && ready 2 mingle. having the comfort of knowing someone loves you for everything you are and everything you’re not makes me far happier than some overly romanticized masochistic twilight bullshit, or the “super hot guy looking at me at the bar/at work/at school” (especially when your guy is pretty damn hot too ….plus covered in tattoos/talented/nerdy/funny all wrapped into one)
  3. money isn’t everything. so what, you get paid $200 a week and you don’t have a billion dollars to spend at pacsun and urban outfitters, and you can only get your nails done once a month, and you have to be careful with it. also, using cash saves money. put the debit card away.
  4. READ MORE. reading is like an escape from the your shitty reality and helps you calm the fuck down.
  5. be yourself. so, you have a potty mouth? who cares. sooo you love cheap $4 gas station wine and cigarettes. you think your puppy is too cute to yell at. you spill EVERYTHING. you usually don’t take your own advice. you have a crazy redheaded temper. taylor swift is your she-god. you’re always the source of everyone’s jokes because you take it like a champ — embrace it.
  6. It’s never too late to start over when it comes to your career/future career. do what excites you.
the end
Live Life to the Fullest
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn’t supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You’ll have your heart broken and you’ll break others’ hearts. You’ll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you’ll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you’ve never been hurt.

Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances.

You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone’s hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don’t be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.

To all my fellow fanfic writers...
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that fanfic writing isn’t “real” writing or that your stories aren’t “real” stories. You are writers, every one of you. You pour your heart and soul into those stories, and you love and respect the characters and the world from which they came. Best of all, you do it from pure passion, because you know you won’t get a dime from writing these stories, and you may or may not even get them read by people.
Your enthusiasm and dedication to the fandom is awesome and don’t ever be ashamed of that.
So the next time someone tells you that you’re wasting your time working on fanfic, tell them you hope they will someday find something they can be as passionate about as you are.
I owe so much to my days as a fanfic writer. I couldn’t have ever written the book I did without those hundreds upon hundreds of hours I devoted to working on my craft. And if I am fortunate enough one day to get fanfic for my own work, I will be so humbled by the fact that so many talented people are choosing to play in my world.
Carry on, people :).
Black Girl...be proud.
Black Girl
Your hair is your crown so wear it ever so proudly
There are many that wish to wear the crown that you have beautifully placed on your shoulders…
Your rich brown body is a temple, in which you shall feed it with what your earth has provided for you. Respect your body black girl, guard your sweet nectar as the worker bees guard the hive…
Your mind is more powerful thank you think black girl. Do not close it, do not let society shut you down. You hold power black girl. Society is afraid of you , they are afraid of your truth and like cowards they try to shut you down because people are afraid of what they do not understand and what they do not know. But you know better…you are better. Your mouth holds a tongue that will give a lashing worse than those slave masters gave their slaves…
Be proud of your heart black girl. You love and you love so damn hard that it scares people. Though your love may be tough at times, you know you mean well….
Black girl…your spirit dances. You have faith, you have dance, you have music, you have rhythm, you have so much soul black girl , be proud of that.
Black girl you are not a hoe. You are not a bitch. You are not ghetto. You are not a “nigga.”
You are free…you are liberated. You are strong, you are intimidating. You are black, southern, Caribbean…
and you are only what you answer to..
Be proud black girl. Be proud. be proud. be proud. Proud of your hair…your body…your mind…your tongue, your heart and your soul…
You are a black girl and you should be proud.
“Play house, put my favorite record on
Get down, get your crystal meth fit on
You were like, tall, tan, drivin’ around the city
Flirtin’ with the girls like, ‘You’re so pretty.’
‘Springsteen is the king, don’t you think?’
I was like, ‘Hell yeah, that guy can sing.’
You make me crazy, you make me wild
Just like a baby, spin me ‘round like a child
Your skin so golden brown
Be young, be dope, be proud
Like an American
