Okay here’s a thing I want to say just based on posts I see on my dash on a regular basis
I support animal rights
I do not support hypocrasy
If you are a vegetarian or vegan and you mistreat your own pets - be it physical abuse, neglect, or not feeding them what they need to stay healthy - then you are not supporting animal rights, and I can not respect your decisions
If you are a meat-eater who supports animal rights and are genuinely against the abuse of animals, but do not morally feel that eating meat is wrong, then I can accept that and respect your morals
If you claim to be a vegetarian or vegan (for moral reasons as opposed to health reasons) but still buy (first-hand) fur or leather products, then I see you as a hypocrite and while I guess I can accept that that’s your decision, I don’t think you can honestly say you are veggie/vegan for moral reasons
If you’re a person who eats meat but refuses to acknowledge where it comes from because thinking about the fact that it was a living animal once will put you off your meal, then I see you as a hypocrite, because you’re essentially saying you’re morally against the killing of animals for food but are still going to go against those morals for no reason
If you are a meat-eater who sees nothing morally wrong with being abusive towards animals… then I guess you’re not really a hypocrite but you are an asshole so yeah
Moral of the story - if you don’t see anything morally wrong with eating animals, that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with that. But if you don’t eat meat because you claim to be against animal abuse and then proceed to abuse animals yourself then you are trash
