I still can’t believe what a cow people are throwing over ecigs. I wasn’t much of a smoker (a social smoker more than anything) before I switched over, but honestly vaping has helped my food addiction a lot. Very small doses of nicotine (I buy the 6 mg per ml, you can buy up to 36 mg per ml, one small bottle is 10 ml and takes a long time for me to go through) help curb the “hunger” that I’ve learned is rarely ever real physical hunger, while the tasty flavors stand in for sweet cravings. So helpful. As someone who suffers from food addiction, I can say this is by far the best (and healthiest) coping mechanism I’ve used.
You have to understand what ecigs are. They were created to be a healthier alternative to smoking, and most companies making ecigs and vape juices do so because they honestly, genuinely care about the health difference it makes in people who want to quit smoking. Ecigs basically heat the flavor “juices” just enough to create vapor, not smoke. The reason you’re hearing so much bologna propaganda about ecigs is because cigarette industries are figuratively shitting themselves in fear that they’re going to finally be wiped out. Who do you think benefits from turning people away from ecigs? Only the people who make money off of the smokers who would potentially switch over to vaping. If they shout out about how it’s “just as bad” as smoking, then people won’t bother switching over to ecigs, and just keep buying pack after pack of cigarettes.
I just can’t believe so many people are buying into the thought that ecigs are unhealthy. The only ingredients in the juices are:
Propylene Glycol (understand what it is- a form of mineral oil, which is FDA approved for ingestion in reasonable doses, also used as a solvent in medications, cosmetics, and certain foods). Only industrial grade is used in antifreeze, so that common argument is ridiculous, it’s not the same grade that goes into ejuice AND anyway it’s used in antifreeze now to replace the more toxic ethylene glycol because of so many cases of dogs lapping up puddles of it and getting sick or dying. Besides that, industrial grade is not used in products meant for consumption, and that includes ejuices. There are different “grades” of it, and no one would dare put industrial grade PG in something made to put into your body. Pharmaceutical grade is what’s used instead.
Vegetable Glycerin (come on, this is obvious. Glycerin derived from vegetables. It’s actually derived from vegetable oils such as coconut oil. You may as well say coconuts are poison. They’re not, by the way.) Most often used in foods to sweeten and retain moisture. Also used in cosmetics. Also an alternative for alcohol in creating herbal extracts. Can be used topically to treat psoriasis, burns, rashes, etc.
Nicotine (a liquid derived from tobacco plants, obviously). Nicotine, on its own and in reasonable doses, is about as harmful as caffeine. Too much can kill you, just like caffeine, but reaching that does would take a ridiculous amount of vaping and you would feel very dizzy and want to stop before getting even close to actually risking death, not to mention you would just pass out if you kept going past that. Pretty much the same results you’d get from over-consumption of caffeine.
Flavoring (food flavorings, usually extracts made from fruits, nuts, coffee, etc, sometimes made from candies if going for a candy-specific flavor like gummy bears. Basically the same process as making the “natural added flavors” in half the food in your pantry right now.) You may as well throw a fit and yelling “POISON!!!” over somebody drinking store-bought lemonade.
Apparently there’s an argument that vape juices use arsenic. First off, they do not. One company from China did, but they’re bankrupt now, so you can see how it is not a desirable path to go down for the other businesses. Not to mention, arsenic is in cigarettes, along with 70+ other cancer-causing toxic ingredients.
SO THERE. If you walk into any decent vape shop, you know what you will see? Genuinely happy looking people. Every time I go to one, I’m just in awe of how happy every customer looks. Everyone looks as though they’ve finally had a world of stress and guilt lifted off their shoulders. You don’t see people who look like they’re getting sicker or unhealthier. You don’t see people who are desperately scrounging change out of their pockets for their fix of poison. You see people who have researched their shit and know they’re making the healthier choice, and feeling good about it.
